Catit Flower Water Fountain Mini Review

Product summary

The Catit Flower Water Fountain offers fresh flowing water at a height that’s perfect for kittens and small cats. Its three different settings can encourage even the fussiest cats to drink the running water that will help them stay healthy and happy.

Unlike normal bowls, the Catit Flower Water Fountain pushes filtered, running water to the surface which means you only need to change the fountain’s water as it starts to run low.

What we like about the product

This water fountain came in a nice box and I was pleased that there wasn’t much plastic wrapping or any bits of unnecessary polystyrene.

Following the instructions given were easy enough, though I was a little nervous when I had to take everything apart to rinse through before first use and then put it all back together again.

As the fountain comes with three different settings; gentle flow, bubbling top and calm streams.

What we didn’t like about the product

When I first put this together, I opted for the calm streams. However, it wasn’t making me feel very calm! The pump was surprisingly noisy and soon it was getting on everyone’s nerves. My cat Dave didn’t appear to want to go near it. I wasn’t sure if it was because of the noise or the flow so decided to try the gentle flow instead!

Interestingly, after fiddling around with the fountain, the noise of the pump reduced and was more tolerable. However, the problem we then faced was that on a gentle flow, when you first switch it on, the water shoots high out of the centre and spray everywhere. Once that had calmed down, the water continued to splash outside of the fountain, leaving the floor around it wet. Not ideal.

The final verdict

Overall, I’m a little disappointed with this fountain as I initially thought it looked nice and the flower in the centre of the fountain was pretty. It doesn’t matter what I think, though, little Dave has barely shown any interest in it so doesn’t look like it is meeting her fussy needs at all.

Dave

David, Little Dave, Dave or Dee Dee joined our family in 2014 when she was 2 years old and we were her third home. She is quite a reserved cat will sit on your lap when she is tired or cold but wouldn’t appreciate being carried about or cuddled. Dave enjoys nothing more than a tickle under the chin, chasing mice in the garden and sunbathing.
