Froglife

Froglife is a conservation charity committed to protecting wild amphibians and reptiles; making sure that beautiful, secretive and often misunderstood animals will flourish long into the future. They take a three-pronged approach to conserving amphibians, reptiles and their habitats. They work on the ground, involving volunteers in creating new ponds and wildlife-friendly areas as well as restoring spaces that have been forgotten about or neglected. They also work with a broad range of people through their learning projects, introducing new audiences to the benefits of being outdoors and helping wildlife.

Do you remember the first time you saw a frog?  Did you watch frogspawn transform into tadpoles in your classroom?  Have you ever been lucky enough to spot a Grass Snake in the undergrowth?

Not only are frogs, toads, newts, snakes and lizards part of our natural heritage – featuring in our fairy stories and myths – they are also important pieces in the jigsaw puzzle of biodiversity.  Looking an adder in the eye or discovering  a sleepy toad beneath a log are moments that can inspire a lifelong passion for wildlife, and an understanding of the value that the animals bring.
